Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer II / Semiconductor Component Engineer with strong expertise in Power Management ICs (PMIC), Interface ICs, Analog/Mixed-Signal ICs, Supplier Quality, NPI, Reliability Engineering, and OSAT manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing semiconductor component quality, supplier qualification, reliability, manufacturing readiness, and supply continuity for enterprise storage products. This role will work closely with Hardware Engineering, Package Engineering, Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics, and global semiconductor suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the technical owner for PMIC and Interface IC suppliers.
Lead semiconductor component qualification, supplier qualification, and manufacturing readiness activities.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI), supplier selection, risk assessments, qualification planning, and production readiness.
Manage supplier quality issues through root cause analysis, 8D, corrective actions, containment, and re-qualification.
Develop supplier performance metrics and technical scorecards covering quality, yield, reliability, delivery, and responsiveness.
Drive supplier continuous improvement, yield enhancement, process optimization, and manufacturing excellence.
Develop and support dual-source and second-source qualification strategies.
Support semiconductor reliability qualification including HTOL, HAST/uHAST, Temperature Cycling, ESD, Latch-up, and JEDEC methodologies.
Partner with suppliers and OSAT organizations on packaging, assembly, final test, and manufacturing processes.
Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) initiatives.
Analyze quality, yield, manufacturing, and reliability data to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with global suppliers and engineering teams across the U.S., Taiwan, Korea, and Japan.
Communicate technical risks, supplier performance, qualification status, and mitigation plans to engineering leadership.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Semiconductor Engineering, or related technical discipline.
5+ years of experience in Semiconductor Supply Chain, Component, Product, Reliability, Hardware, or Supplier Quality Engineering.
At least 2 years of direct experience with PMICs, Interface ICs, Analog ICs, or Mixed-Signal ICs.
Strong experience with semiconductor component and supplier qualification.
Hands-on understanding of analog and mixed-signal semiconductor technologies.
Knowledge of power delivery technologies including PMICs, voltage regulators, and load switches.
Experience with high-speed interface technologies such as PCIe, NVMe, retimers, redrivers, or level shifters.
Strong knowledge of semiconductor reliability and qualification methodologies.
Experience with 8D, root cause analysis, corrective action, and supplier re-qualification.
Familiarity with semiconductor packaging, assembly, final test, and OSAT operations.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently with global and distributed engineering teams.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Master''s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Semiconductor Engineering, or related field.
Experience with enterprise storage, SSD, server, networking, or data-center hardware.
Direct experience with PMICs, voltage regulators, load switches, PCIe retimers/redrivers, or level shifters.
Experience working with major semiconductor suppliers and OSAT partners.
Knowledge of SSD hardware architecture and power delivery systems.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean language skills.
Experience with supplier risk management, dual sourcing, and component lifecycle management.
