Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior PLM Windchill Solution Architect to lead a strategic, customer-facing PLM engagement for a leading Medical Device / Life Sciences organization.

The ideal candidate will be a senior techno-functional architect with strong PTC Windchill PLM expertise and experience owning end-to-end architecture, technical governance, integrations, migration, validation, AMS, and customer stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end PTC Windchill PLM solution architecture and technical governance.
• Act as a senior customer-facing architect and trusted technical advisor.
• Work with IT, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and business stakeholders.
• Lead architecture/design discussions, solution walkthroughs, estimation, scope discussions, and technical reviews.
• Provide architecture oversight for Windchill PDMLink, ThingWorx/Navigate, Change Management, Document Management, BOM Management, CAD integrations, migration, and validation.
• Govern Windchill AMS/support, incident management, RCA, recurring issue reduction, and SLA improvement.
• Lead integration, migration, upgrade, enhancement, and production support initiatives.
• Guide distributed/offshore technical teams and ensure delivery governance.
• Identify opportunities for automation, AI-assisted support, operational improvement, and PLM modernization.
• Support proposals, CR estimation, account planning, renewals, and solution presentations.

Must-Have Technical Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience.
• 5+ years in Solution Architect / Technical Architect / Lead Architect roles.
• Strong expertise in Windchill PDMLink.
• Strong knowledge of:

• Business Administration
• Strong understanding of Windchill architecture including MethodServer, Web Server, database, vaults, queues, file servers, clustering, load balancing, and Solr.
• Experience with ThingWorx/Navigate, CAD integrations, WVS/publishing, and visualization is highly preferred.
• Experience supporting DEV, TEST, QA, VAL, PROD, training, migration, and sandbox environments.
• Strong experience with integration, migration, upgrade, implementation, AMS, and validation.

Industry Experience

Candidates with experience in the following industries are strongly preferred:

• Medical Devices / Life Sciences
• Pharma / Healthcare
• Manufacturing
• Automotive
• Aerospace / Aeronautics
• Other regulated industries

Medical Device / Life Sciences experience is particularly valuable for this engagement.

Regulatory / Validation Experience

Experience with regulated environments and knowledge of FDA QMSR, ISO 13485, GxP, CSV, 21 CFR Part 11, UDI, EU MDR/EUDAMED, audit readiness, and traceability is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• PTC Windchill certification
• AWS or Azure certification
• ITIL certification
• ISO 13485 / CSV / GxP / Medical Device validation training
• AI/GenAI or automation experience

Candidate Requirements

• Warsaw, IN is preferred, but candidates anywhere in the U.S. can be considered.
• Must be willing to travel to the client location initially, followed by occasional/milestone-based travel.
• Strong customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills are required.

Important

Candidates should have genuine Architect-level Windchill experience, not just Windchill development or production support experience. Strong customer-facing architecture, PLM solution ownership, and experience in Medical Device/Life Sciences or another relevant regulated industry are highly preferred.
