Engineering Representative II - Part-Time Up to 29 hours per week; Pay $27.14-$37.81

What You'll Do
You'll support City Utilities Development Services by reviewing utility plans, coordinating permitting and plan-review activities, researching project information and helping move development projects forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Review sanitary sewer, stormwater and drinking-water plans for compliance with City, state and federal requirements.
- Set up project files, enter technical and financial information, prepare review comments and approval letters, and support complex project reviews.
- Research plans, maps, easements and utility records using City databases, GIS and mapping systems.
- Investigate developer concerns, conduct site visits and coordinate with City staff, engineers, contractors and property owners to resolve issues.
- Assist with economic-development reports, public meetings, utility standards, system-capacity reviews and presentations to the Board of Public Works or City Council.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversee the team's daily workflow when assigned.
- Train team members and other staff.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Urban Planning, Business Administration or a related field; or an associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology or a related field.
- Relevant experience may be considered in place of education.
- Engineering Representative I training with at least one year of successful post-training experience, or two years of related engineering experience, is preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, research and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and complete site visits in varying outdoor conditions.
Certifications
- Valid Indiana driver's license if operating a City vehicle.
- Ability to obtain Notary Public certification within 18 months of employment.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to read plans, technical procedures, regulations and utility records.
- Experience with ACCELA, ArcMap/GIS, Application Enhancer, Laredo, CIS or PMIS is helpful.
- Spanish or Burmese language skills are preferred but not required.
