Job Summary
A Cyber Vulnerability Manager is responsible for identifying and managing the risks posed by vulnerabilities in the IT systems and applications used by the NHS in Wales.
Duties:
- Act independently using own initiative within established parameters, self-determining when to refer to manager.
- Contribute to defining the strategic direction of the organisation by developing cyber improvement and by supporting the development of a Cyber Security improvement plan.
- Line manage and develop specialist staff, and work with other managers to ensure security objectives and targets are met.
- Manage projects, devise a range of options to overcome problems, analyse the options and take appropriate action to ensure projects are delivered in a timely manner.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of vulnerability scanning tools and processes, as well as managing contracts with external testers.
- Report and remediate vulnerabilities, identifying risks and conducting associated risk management.
- Develop, maintain and support the relevant systems for security services within your remit.
Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
- Experience leading a team and managing IT security vulnerabilities within a large, complex organisation.
- Experience conducting penetration testing and vulnerability assessments in a corporate environment.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective technical training for diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, security platforms and integrated systems.
- Proficiency with security tools, including vulnerability management, access control and incident management systems.
- Experience analysing security incidents, identifying trends and supporting remediation.
- Working knowledge of networking, operating systems and system software.
- Awareness of project planning and delivery principles.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
