Civil Engineer


About the Role


Cala Consulting is recruiting a Civil Engineer on behalf of its client, an established and respected civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Lisburn.The consultancy delivers a diverse range of projects including sports facilities, hospitals, schools, residential developments (including social housing), and water infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with 3+ years' experience who is working towards Chartered status and is looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.The successful candidate will be involved in projects from initial concept through to completion, working closely with experienced engineers to deliver practical, innovative, and cost-effective engineering solutions for a broad range of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake civil engineering design for a varied portfolio of development and infrastructure projects.

Prepare designs for drainage, roads, external works, utilities and associated site infrastructure, where relevant.

Produce technical calculations, reports, drawings, specifications and other design documentation.

Coordinate design information with architects, structural engineers, contractors and other members of the project team.

Liaise directly with clients, statutory authorities and external stakeholders.

Attend site visits, inspections and project meetings.

Assist with resolving technical issues during the design and construction stages.

Support the delivery of projects in line with agreed programmes, budgets and quality standards.

Manage elements of smaller projects, with support from senior engineers.

Continue professional development and work towards Chartered Engineer status.


Essential Criteria:

A degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Approximately 24 years experience within a civil engineering consultancy or similar design environment.

Experience contributing to civil engineering projects through the design and construction stages.

Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

The ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation.

Strong communication, organisation and design coordination skills.

A commitment to progressing towards Chartered Engineer status with a recognised professional institution.
