Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as an Ambulatory Technician at Sussex Equine Hospital. The purpose of the role is to help the ambulatory vet in his/her daily routines facilitating a more efficient way of working.

 
We are located in rural Sussex, with good train links to London, Brighton and Worthing. Here, there are lots of country walks and the seaside is only 20 miles away.
 
You will be working with a highly skilled team of Vets, Nurses and Grooms. We have fantastic lab and pharmacy provision, with great staff and a brilliant administrative team.
 

How You’ll Make a Difference

 
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by the post holder may be varied from time to time under the direction of the supervising ambulatory vet but might include
 
* Setting up of veterinary equipment for standard procedures
* Cleaning veterinary equipment after use and stowing it safely
* Restraining of horses during veterinary procedures.
* Lunging and trotting-up horses
* Helping to keep the vehicle tidy and clean
* Ensuring stock levels of the vehicle are maintained
* Driving to calls
* Occasional drug drop offs
* Holding radiography plates
* Preparing limbs for intra-articular medication
* Clipping and prepping legs for tendon scans
* Assisting in the recording of invoices with reference to dispensed drugs.
* Answering the telephone and taking messages
 

Working Pattern

 
This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week, various shifts.
