Job Description

The Planning & Financial Performance team supports the business in achieving its strategic objectives by delivering insightful analysis to inform decision making, with a clear focus on key performance drivers. The team establishes and maintains a consistent performance management framework across the organisation, covering business planning, performance reporting and reviews, supported by robust systems and processes. The team is recognised as a valued critical friend, providing robust challenge and informed advice.

The Financial Performance Manager will play a critical role in supporting senior leadership through high-quality financial management information, insightful commercial analysis, and performance reporting across the Group and its segments. The role partners closely with Finance and business stakeholders to translate financial data into clear insight, enabling effective decision-making and performance management. The position reports to the Head of Planning & Financial Performance and operates as a trusted expert within the wider commercial finance community.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage periodic performance reporting of Group and segment financial management information, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and relevance. Comment on actuals, forecasts, and outlooks with clear narrative and insight.
  • Lead the ongoing development of periodic performance reporting, mentoring the team in Mumbai and proactively improving content insight.
  • Deliver high-quality commercial insight and analysis to support strategic, tactical, and operational decision-making. To be achieved through ad hoc projects, work on emerging issues and unusual trends, and proactive investigation of drivers of the Group's performance.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance and the business to explain performance drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide expert input into planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis activities, ensuring alignment to business priorities.
  • Contribute to the development of the Planning & Financial Performance team, and the wider Finance function, by sharing expertise and insight.
  • Management of one member of staff in the UK, and informal leadership and coaching of our wider virtual team based in India.

Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Strong expertise in financial performance management, management information, and commercial analysis within a complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to interpret financial data and translate it into clear, concise, and actionable insight for senior stakeholders.
  • Sound understanding of Group and segment performance drivers and how financial outcomes link to strategic objectives.
  • Experience working closely with Planning & Financial Performance, finance teams, and non-finance stakeholders in a partnering capacity.
  • High standards of financial control, accuracy, and analytical rigour.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight reporting cycles.
  • Strong people management skills
