Civil Resident Engineer<br />Location: Vanguard West, Norfolk (PE37 8EG)<br />Start Date: 17th August 2026<br />Duration: Until 31st August 2027<br />Rate: £359.55 per day<br />Hours: 50 hours per week Search Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Civil Resident Engineer to join a major transmission infrastructure project at Vanguard West. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for an experienced civil engineering professional with a strong background in high-voltage substations and the delivery of complex infrastructure projects.

The Role:

Manage the technical aspects of civil construction from design review through to site execution.<br />Supervise subcontractors and oversee the daily progress of civil works.<br />Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification.<br />Lead all quality activities, including ITPs, inspection records, audits and the management of NCRs.<br />Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and logistics.<br />Resolve on-site engineering and technical issues.<br />Ensure compliance with contract drawings, specifications and industry standards.<br />Maintain accurate quality and project documentation.<br />Support project planning, engineering control and resource management.<br />Promote the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.Essential Requirements Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Civil Resident Engineer or similar senior civil engineering role.<br />Strong background working on high-voltage substation or transmission projects.<br />Experience managing projects through to successful completion and close-out.<br />HNC or HND in Civil Engineering.<br />CSCS Card or CCNSG Safety Passport.<br />IPAF.<br />First Aid.<br />Manual Handling.<br />Good working knowledge of modern construction methods and the Specification for Highway Works (SHW).<br />Proficient with Microsoft Office and other IT systems.The Role Offers: £359.55 per day.<br />Outside IR35.<br />50-hour working week.<br />Weekly timesheets.<br />Long-term contract through to August 2027.<br />Opportunity to work on a major UK transmission infrastructure project.If you're an experienced Civil Resident Engineer with a background in high-voltage substations and transmission projects, we'd like to hear from you.
