Job Description

Position Overview for the Contracts Specialist :
Supports preparation and routing of contract documents, assists with contract negotiations under guidance, and ensures contracts are executed in accordance with agency policies and regulations. Maintains contract records (data entry, electronic filing), and helps with competitive procurement processes (RFPs, RFIs, ITBs, etc.). Coordinates with vendors, Legal, Executive Leadership, Senior Management, and department staff to resolve contract-related inquiries. Ensures compliance with municipal, state, and federal requirements. Must be proficient with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, digital signature tools, and able to conduct efficient online research.
Required Skills for the Contracts Specialist:
  • 5+ years of experience in a Contracts position
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, digital signature software
  • Prior experience with ERP/financial systems such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, Workday, SAP, or similar
  • Knowledge of government contract types, basic finance and accounting principles, and government contracting regulations
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills, with ability to draft clear contract language and correspondence
