Principal Cloud Engineer | Chantilly, VA, United States | Hybrid This employer is seeking a skilled Principal Cloud Engineer to join their mission-critical operations team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing secure cloud infrastructures with a strong emphasis on security monitoring and threat detection, leveraging modern DevOps practices. The Role • Design, implement, and manage secure cloud infrastructures across AWS, Azure, Oracle, and GCP. • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM templates for deployment and management. • Implement security best practices, including configuring NSGs, application gateways, and leveraging Azure security services for threat detection and compliance. • Automate workflows and tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI) and tools like Logic Apps and Azure Functions. • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within cloud environments, ensuring operational stability. • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure cloud solutions meet all functional and security requirements. What You'll Need • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of additional IT experience. • 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering and/or development. • Proven experience with IaC tools (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform) and DevOps practices. • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation. • Experience with cloud security principles and implementing security controls in complex environments. • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification within 6 months of hire.
