Kubernetes Engineer

Introduction:

The Kubernetes Engineer is a specialist responsible for the design, deployment, and operations of all GKE clusters in the H100 platform. This role involves managing various aspects of Kubernetes clusters, including security, node pool optimization, workload scheduling, and GitOps delivery, to ensure enterprise-grade reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and operate GKE clusters with specific configurations
• Manage Config Connector (KCC) on the management cluster
• Operate Config Sync across multiple clusters
• Deploy and manage ARC (Actions Runner Controller) on runner clusters
• Implement and manage External Secrets Operator (ESO)
• Configure and enforce Policy Controller / Gatekeeper
• Manage node pools, including machine types and autoscaling
• Build and maintain runner pod specs for various platforms
• Implement Kubernetes RBAC and monitor cluster health
• Manage GKE Fleet membership and perform cluster upgrades

Requirements:

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• 7+ years in Kubernetes engineering, with 3+ years on GKE specifically
• Deep expertise in GKE, Config Sync, Policy Controller, and Fleet management
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes internals and networking
• Experience with Config Connector (KCC) and ARC deployment
• Hands-on External Secrets Operator (ESO) configuration
• Knowledge of Helm chart management and Kubernetes security
• Proficiency in Kustomize and monitoring tools like Prometheus
• Strong kubectl skills and troubleshooting methodology

Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Binary Authorization and GKE Autopilot
• Familiarity with Windows and non-Linux node pools on GKE
• Kubernetes operator development and relevant certifications
