Field Service Engineer

Location: UK Field Based (Ideal locations: Midlands, Worcestershire or M4 Corridor)
Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 per annum + Company Vehicle or £5,000 Car Allowance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join a growing technical business specialising in advanced electronics manufacturing equipment. This field-based role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge production and inspection systems, including x-ray technology, supporting customers across the UK with installations, servicing, maintenance and technical support.

Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring customers maximise the performance and reliability of their equipment while delivering an exceptional level of service.

Duties of a Customer Support Engineer:
  • Install and commission specialist production and x-ray inspection equipment at customer sites
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and software faults
  • Provide operator training and technical guidance to customers
  • Support customer production through process and application advice
  • Carry out equipment demonstrations and customer trials where required
  • Complete service reports and maintain accurate CRM records
  • Build strong relationships with customers through professional on-site support
  • Travel throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays and visits to Ireland
What we would like from you:
  • Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or Customer Support Engineer
  • Experience working on electronics manufacturing equipment, SMT equipment, automation or precision machinery is highly desirable
  • Experience working on x-ray systems, including medical x-ray equipment, will also be considered as the role involves supporting industrial x-ray inspection equipment
  • Strong fault-finding ability across electrical, mechanical and software systems
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule
  • Professional, motivated approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience using CRM systems and completing service documentation
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to travel nationwide with occasional overnight stays
