Job Description

Position: Security Lead

Duration: 6 months with extension

Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid)

Can attend the Sacramento office for two consecutive days each month, generally the first Wednesday and Thursday.

Position Overview:

The Security Lead / Staff Manager will provide overall leadership, coordination, quality control, staffing management, and delivery oversight for the information security services engagement. The individual will serve as the primary point of contact for project communications and coordinate the work of security professionals and specialized resources.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall oversight, coordination, and quality control for the security services team.
  • Manage day-to-day execution, staffing, resource allocation, and project priorities.
  • Serve as the authorized contact for project communications, invoicing coordination, and staffing matters.
  • Coordinate the work of full-time security professionals and project-based specialists.
  • Lead integrated security services across:
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Security Engineering & Architecture
  • Security Monitoring
  • Incident Response
  • Data Protection
  • Third-Party Risk Management
  • Prepare written status reports and executive-level communications.
  • Provide escalation reporting to leadership/CISO as required.
  • Review deliverables for quality, completeness, and compliance.
  • Respond formally to client review findings and coordinate corrective revisions.
  • Maintain staff continuity and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Coordinate personnel substitutions and specialized/surge resources when required.
  • Support security incident-response activities and after-hours escalation when necessary.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise information-security programs or teams.
  • Strong understanding of security governance, risk, compliance, engineering, monitoring, incident response, and data protection.
  • Experience coordinating multiple security workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong project/program management and quality-assurance skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience preparing executive-level security reports and presentations.
  • Experience working with regulated environments is highly desirable.
