Reporting to the Senior Supported Playgroup Facilitator, you'll be part of a passionate and collaborative team committed to supporting children and families. Together, we deliver high-quality, inclusive programs that create positive outcomes in our community
About this opportunityThe City of Kingston delivers Supported Playgroups for preschool-aged children and their families. Through play-based learning, we support children's development, strengthen family connections, build parenting confidence, and help families access community services and supports.
Key responsibilities- Facilitate Supported Playgroup sessions that support children's learning and development
- Create safe, inclusive, and welcoming environments for children and families
- Build positive relationships with families from diverse backgrounds
- Encourage participation, connection, and community engagement
- Work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and service providers
- Provide family support, information, referrals, and in-home support as required
You are a relationship-focused professional with a passion for supporting children and families.
You will bring:
- A minimum Diploma in Children's Services, Community Services, Social Work, or a related qualification
- Experience facilitating playgroups or working within early childhood education and care settings
- Strong skills in family engagement and relationship building
- Experience supporting vulnerable families using a strengths-based approach
- Knowledge of playgroup guidelines, industry standards, and best-practice approaches within the early years and family support sectors
- The ability to provide information, referrals, and practical support to families
