Job Description

Akkodis is recruiting for a Sr CAE Crashworthiness Enginer for an automotive manaufacturer in the Raymond, OH area. This is an onsite contract position with a pay rate of $45 an hour to $55 an hour depending on education, experience and location.
The engineer will:
  • Work with large full vehicle crash models.
  • Load, understand, parameterize, and run crash models.
  • Set up optimization workflows in modeFRONTIER.
  • Support body-in-white (BIW) optimization, adjusting approximately 30-40 parameters and running optimization studies.
  • Initially focus on crash simulation, with the opportunity to move into NVH work later.
  • Perform post-processing, verify simulation results against baselines, and work with large models containing numerous include files.

Required Technical Skills
The hiring manager emphasized these are the most important qualifications:
  • Full vehicle crash simulation experience (mandatory)
  • LS-DYNA experience, including running full vehicle crash models
  • Strong ANSA experience for loading models, parameterization, workflow setup, and optimization
  • Strong understanding of crash methodologies and knowing what to look for within large crash models

Preferred Skills
  • modeFRONTIER experience (strong preference but can be taught)
  • Automation experience (acceptable if modeFRONTIER experience is limited)
  • Experience with Reduced Order Models (ROMs/RSMs) is a plus, but not required

Team Structure
  • Will join a team of 3-4 CAE engineers/analysts
  • Individual contributor role only
  • No people management or project leadership responsibilities

Industry Background
  • Automotive crash experience is required
  • Aerospace experience is not considered transferable for this role

Pay Details: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour
