Job Description

This position is open to students enrolled in a Charter School in the High Desert ONLY!

Location: Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority (VVWRA), 20111 Shay Rd., Victorville
Type: Paid Internship
Schedule: 100 hours, 2 days per week, September 21 - November 13, 2026

College credit is available through a Victor Valley College Work Experience course.

You must be 16 years old for the internship and have Right to Work documents.


About the Internship
Join the VVWRA team this summer as an Accounting Technician Intern and gain valuable hands-on experience in financial operations, audit preparation, budgeting, and more. This internship is ideal for high school or early college students in general business or accounting-focused CTE pathways who are eager to apply classroom learning to real-world work.

Key Responsibilities
Interns will rotate through the following areas of financial operations, guided by experienced staff:

Audit & Financial Statement Preparation

  • Assist with general ledger reconciliations

  • Prepare audit support documentation

  • Organize files for internal/external audit trails

Budget Book Preparation

  • Attend budgeting meetings

  • Populate budget worksheets

  • Assist in creating simple budget presentation materials

Grant Reimbursement Documentation

  • Identify invoices eligible for grant funding

  • Help summarize reimbursable costs for reporting

Accounts Payable Operations

  • Practice 3-way match of invoices, purchase orders, and confirmations

  • Code transactions accurately and verify financial data

  • Input service entries into accounting systems
