Job title: Software Dev Engineer IV

Location: Dallas, Texas (Onsite)

Duration: 12 months

Job Description:

This is an opportunity to step into a senior engineering role where your work directly impacts large-scale, distributed systems. This position involves the design, development, implementation, testing, and delivery of multi-tiered software applications, tools, and services. You will own critical components from design through deployment and operational support while working in a technical, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build large-scale, distributed software systems.
• Own the end-to-end delivery of services and system components.
• Apply strong object-oriented design and system architecture principles.
• Develop primarily in Java, with exposure to C++, Python, or TypeScript.
• Work in Linux and cloud-native environments.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and technical teams.
• Produce clear technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required. A Bachelor's degree in a related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience will be accepted as an equivalent.
• Experience: At least three years of professional software development experience is required. This experience must include multi-threaded and distributed programming in Java or C++ on Linux, as well as strong knowledge of system design, data structures, and algorithms.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java is required. Experience must involve JDBC, SQL, Object-Oriented design patterns, CI/CD, Git, and database technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation).
• Knowledge of DevOps or SRE practices.
• Experience with microservices and scalable backend systems.
• Technical leadership experience.
