Principal Architect/Java/NJ

We are working with an established software company on a Principal Architect opening. They have been in business for over 50 years and are actively modernizing their core platform.

You will serve as the design authority across engineering teams, spending the majority of your time on architecture and new development. A chance to utilize modern technologies in a stable environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Java / Spring Framework
• AWS architecture
• Design responsibilities
• API and microservices design

Desired Skills and Experience:

• AWS or Claude experience
• Background in enterprise SaaS
• Public sector or government

What You Will Be Doing:

• 80% architecture and new development
• 20% hands-on maintenance

Tech Breakdown:

• 100% Java/Spring

Daily Responsibilities:

• 80% Architecture
• 20% Legacy maintenance
