Responsibilities:
- Drive enhancements in data quality and governance across the organisation.
- Support the development of the DSO Data Portal for better usability and value.
- Champion data best practises, aligning with Ofgem Data Best Practise Guidance.
- Contribute to the DSO Data & Digital Strategy and Digital Roadmap.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to unlock opportunities for data utilisation and digital innovation.
- Promote strong data governance, metadata management, and compliance practises.
- Advocate for the adoption of cloud-based data capabilities and digital tools for greater insights.
Required Experience:
- Strong understanding of data governance and quality management frameworks.
- Experience in regulated environments, ideally with Ofgem standards.
- Ability to influence and drive improvements in data maturity.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern architectures.
- Experience in Agile delivery environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Technical Environment:While this role isn't hands-on data engineering, familiarity with modern data platform technologies is essential, including:
- AWS cloud services
- SQL databases
- PostgreSQL
- Python
- Data cataloguing and metadata management
Experience with AWS services like Glue or SageMaker is a plus, but the focus remains on governance, quality, and strategy.
