Java Tech Lead / Java Lead

Role: Java Technical Lead

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Provide technical leadership and coordinate development teams across different regions and time zones.
• Design and develop scalable Microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Build and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
• Drive code quality through code reviews, engineering best practices, and automated testing.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution of technical challenges.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA, DevOps, and distributed engineering teams.
• Manage technical dependencies and coordinate development activities across onshore/offshore teams.
• Mentor developers and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automation, DevOps practices, and Agile/Scrum delivery.

Required Skills:

• 12+ years of experience in Java backend development, including experience in a Technical Lead role.
• Strong expertise in Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security.
• Extensive experience with Microservices, REST APIs, and Apache Kafka.
• Strong knowledge of AWS – EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, API Gateway, SNS, and SQS.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL/NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB.
• Experience with Redis or similar caching technologies.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning.
• Excellent debugging, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams and coordinating delivery across multiple regions/time zones.
