Full Stack Engineer (Front End focus) - Banking

On behalf of Deutsche Bank, we are looking for a Full Stack Engineer (Front-end) for a 6 month contract based in London (3 days in the office, 2 from home).

Job description - the role

Purpose of the role:
We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer (Front-end focus but also holding experience in Java or Kotlin on the back-end), to join a high-performing engineering team building the next generation of a business-critical platform that supports Sales teams with richer client insights and a more integrated client management experience.

What you'll do:

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, robust and well-tested applications.
• Build and enhance full-stack solutions using modern front-end and JVM-based technologies.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver value through iterative releases.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and production support activities.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and improve the reliability and performance of live services.
• Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

The skills you'll need:

• Full-stack software development experience, with strong expertise in front-end engineering.
• Strong commercial experience with ReactJS, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3, building scalable and responsive web applications.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks and tooling, including Next.js and Tailwind CSS.
• Experience developing or integrating with Java or Kotlin-based backend services, with a solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles.
• Proven use of agile engineering practices including TDD, pair programming, continuous integration, and iterative delivery.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, observability, production support, and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Proven experience working within an XP (Extreme Programming) and Agile environment, including TDD, acceptance testing, pair programming, continuous integration, and iterative delivery practices.
