When asked to come in, Massachusetts/Boston, downstate New York, or upstate New York/Syracuse.
Candidates need to be comfortable traveling for project launches, integration sessions, workshops and design sessions, potentially around 25%.
Depending on the project, there could occasionally be international travel to the UK/Warwick office

Deep SAP AI & SAP BTP Technical Expertise The candidate should have hands-on experience with SAP Joule, SAP Business AI, SAP BTP, SAP AI Core, Generative AI Hub, SAP Build, and Joule Studio, with a proven ability to design and deploy AI solutions within SAP environments. Experience integrating SAP AI with platforms such as Microsoft Copilot and Azure OpenAI is particularly valuable.

2. Proven Experience Delivering Enterprise AI Solutions This candidate will have successfully delivered AI, generative AI, automation, or machine learning programs and can demonstrate measurable business outcomes. Ideally, they should have experience implementing AI use cases that improve productivity, automate workflows, enhance decision-making, and drive user adoption

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Role Summary


National Grid is seeking an experienced SAP AI Consultant with deep expertise in SAP Joule, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and enterprise AI transformation. The successful candidate will lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered business solutions across SAP landscapes, enabling productivity improvements, intelligent automation, enhanced decision-making, and innovative user experiences.

This role will partner with business stakeholders, SAP product teams, IT delivery teams, and external partners to identify, prioritize, and implement AI use cases across Finance, Procurement, HR, Supply Chain, Asset Management, and Corporate Functions. The consultant will serve as National Grid's subject matter expert for SAP's AI strategy, including Joule, Joule Studio, SAP Build, Business AI, Generative AI Hub, and Agentic AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

AI Strategy & Advisory
  • Lead SAP AI strategy development and roadmap planning aligned with National Grid's business objectives.
  • Identify and assess opportunities to leverage SAP Joule and Business AI capabilities to improve operational efficiency, employee experience, compliance, and decision-making.
  • Build business cases and value realization models for AI investments.
  • Advise stakeholders on SAP AI product roadmap, innovation opportunities, and emerging technologies.


SAP Joule Solution Delivery
  • Design and implement SAP Joule-powered solutions across SAP applications, including:
    • SAP S/4HANA
    • SAP Ariba
    • SAP Concur
    • SAP SuccessFactors
    • SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
    • SAP Datasphere
  • Configure and develop Joule Skills, Agents, and Business AI use cases.
  • Design conversational experiences that simplify complex SAP processes.
  • Deliver AI-enabled workflows that enhance user productivity and operational effectiveness.


SAP BTP & AI Engineering
  • Design and implement AI architectures leveraging:
    • SAP BTP
    • SAP AI Core
    • SAP Generative AI Hub
    • SAP Build Process Automation
    • SAP Build Apps
    • SAP Build Work Zone
    • SAP Integration Suite
    • Joule Studio
  • Integrate SAP AI capabilities with Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, and enterprise applications where appropriate.
  • Develop secure and scalable AI solutions following clean-core principles and SAP best practices.


Agentic AI & Intelligent Automation
  • Design and deliver Agentic AI solutions capable of orchestrating complex business processes.
  • Create autonomous and semi-autonomous AI assistants for procurement, finance, HR, and operational teams.
  • Implement AI-enabled process automation to reduce manual effort and improve service delivery.
  • Drive AI-assisted workflows using SAP Build Process Automation and SAP workflow technologies.


Data & Analytics
  • Enable AI-driven insights using SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • Design knowledge foundations that support retrieval-augmented AI experiences.
  • Deliver intelligent reporting, narrative generation, forecasting, and predictive analytics capabilities.


Governance & Change Management
  • Establish AI governance, security, compliance, and responsible AI frameworks.
  • Define AI operating models and standards for SAP environments.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, training, and adoption activities.
  • Educate business and IT teams on SAP AI capabilities and best practices.


Required Qualifications

Experience
  • 8+ years of SAP consulting experience.
  • 3+ years delivering AI, machine learning, automation, or generative AI solutions.
  • Proven experience implementing SAP Business Technology Platform solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Joule, Joule Studio, or SAP Business AI initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success delivering enterprise transformation programs.
