Job Description

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting:

We are looking for a Quality Engineer for a permanent position based with our client in Rotherham.

Immediate start available (subject to interview process)

Salary is £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Working hours:

  • Week 1: Monday to Thursday - 8am - 5pm
  • Week 2: Monday to Thursday 8am 5pm & Friday 8am 4pm

Role:
Introduce automotive quality methodologies and best practices into our clients fabrication and manufacturing operations, driving improvements in process capability, product quality, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.
  • Implement and embed APQP, PPAP, FMEA and Control Plan methodologies.
  • Reduce internal defects, scrap and rework costs.
  • Improve process capability and production consistency.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Develop quality metrics and reporting dashboards.
  • Support customer audits and quality reviews.
  • Train manufacturing teams in automotive quality tools and techniques.
  • Drive a culture of right-first-time manufacturing.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Recent / relevant experience in a similar Quality role within an automotive and metal fabrication / engineering background.
  • Direct working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA and Control Plan methodologies.
  • Demonstrable understanding of quality management principles, methodologies and core tools.
  • Precision in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas.
