Analog Devices is seeking a Staff Process Engineer (P4) to serve as the site's Defect Expert for manufacturing in Wilmington, MA. This role will lead defect inspection, classification, analysis, recipe optimization, and reduction strategies to improve yield, quality, throughput, and process control.
This engineer will partner cross functionally to resolve yield excursions, strengthen defect control methods, and establish best-in-class inspection practices.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to...
- Serve as the site subject matter expert for KLA-Altair, Onto, and related defect inspection, review, and metrology platforms.
- Develop and optimize inspection strategies, recipes, sampling plans, defect binning, and review methodologies across MEMS process modules.
- Use defect data, wafer maps, trend analysis, and statistical methods to identify systematic defect sources and drive corrective actions.
- Lead cross-functional investigations into yield excursions, process deviations, equipment issues, and reliability concerns.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions that improve yield, quality, process capability, tool utilization, cycle time, and cost.
- Define new wafer-level inspection and process control capabilities to support MEMS technology roadmaps.
- Partner with vendors and engineering teams to improve defect sensitivity and align inspection tool roadmaps with manufacturing needs.
- Mentor engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
- Influence engineering strategy and decision-making across manufacturing and development teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of semiconductor manufacturing, MEMS fabrication, or advanced process engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor process integration, device physics, and manufacturing methodologies.
- Deep expertise in defect metrology, AOI, inspection tools, and defect database systems.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, Python, Matlab, Spotfire, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
