Software Developer

Overview

Global Payments enables millions of people to move money between buyers and sellers using our payments solutions for credit, debit, prepaid and merchant services. We design, build and deliver best in class payment technology and software solutions worldwide. We are looking for a Software Developer to join our Engineering team and help shape the future of global commerce. You will join eWAY, a leading global payment service provider in Oceania, to design, build and test core systems that power secure transactions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure, high quality .NET code that powers our core systems.
• Champion automated testing, including unit and integration tests, to keep releases fast and reliable.
• Develop a deep understanding of our software architecture and use that knowledge to drive smart, business aligned decisions.
• Contribute to an Agile team and apply modern software design and development practices.
• Collaborate with the business through documentation and hands on support when incidents occur, building strong relationships along the way.

Qualifications

• A degree in Information Technology (or equivalent experience) and 3+ years building software commercially.
• Strong .NET expertise - .NET, .NET Core, C#, and hands on experience designing and deploying cloud based APIs.
• Comfort with Microsoft SQL and cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud Spanner, DynamoDB or Cloud Datastore).
• Security first mindset, with experience in threat modelling, penetration testing and modern web technologies, plus familiarity with AI tools like Copilot.
• Strong communication skills, an independent streak, and a growth mindset that thrives on solving hard problems.
• Bonus: previous experience in Financial Services industries.
• Working knowledge of PCI DSS requirements.
• Demonstrable experience designing, building and supporting distributed transaction processing systems, ideally in a cloud centric environment.
