About the Opportunity
We are delighted to be working in partnership with a long-established and highly regarded general accountancy practice to recruit an experienced Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant with a strong background in accounts and audit to take a leading role within a client-focused and supportive firm.

Our client is a reputable and forward-thinking accountancy practice offering a full suite of services, including statutory accounts, audit, taxation, and business advisory. With a loyal and varied client base, the firm places a strong emphasis on personal service, technical excellence, and long-term client relationships.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, managing the preparation and review of accounts and audits, and acting as a key advisor to business owners and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring the highest standard of service delivery
- Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP
- Lead and coordinate audit engagements from planning to finalisation
- Supervise and support junior staff, reviewing work and providing mentorship
- Maintain regular contact with clients to provide proactive financial and business advice
- Monitor deadlines, budgets, and job progress to ensure efficiency
- Identify and pursue opportunities to add value and grow client relationships
Candidate Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a general practice environment
- Demonstrable experience in both audit and accounts preparation
- Excellent technical knowledge and strong analytical skills
- Confident communicator, capable of building strong client relationships
- Proficiency with common accounting software (e.g., IRIS, CCH, CaseWare, Xero, QuickBooks)
- Strong organisational skills and commercial awareness
