Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow DevOps Lead Developer to lead the design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow DevOps solutions and enterprise integrations. The ideal candidate will drive DevOps transformation initiatives by integrating ServiceNow with CI/CD and Agile toolchains, automating change management processes, and establishing scalable development standards.
This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development expertise, integration experience, and the ability to collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
Key Responsibilities
ServiceNow DevOps Development
- Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow DevOps solutions.
- Configure and support DevOps Change Velocity capabilities.
- Automate change request creation and approval workflows from CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and maintain custom applications, workflows, and automation solutions.
- Configure policies and controls to support compliant software delivery processes.
- Translate business requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions.
- Drive adoption of ServiceNow DevOps best practices across teams.
- Delivery of scalable, secure, and maintainable platform solutions.
DevOps Toolchain Integrations
- Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise DevOps platforms.
- Integrate ServiceNow with tools such as: Azure DevOps, Jira, GitHub, GitLab, SonarQube.
- Develop integrations using: REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, Webhooks, Scripted REST APIs
- Configure and manage authentication mechanisms including OAuth and API tokens.
- Build reusable integration frameworks and components.
- Troubleshoot and optimize integration performance and reliability.
Pipeline and Change Automation
- Integrate CI/CD pipelines with ServiceNow Change Management.
- Automate Standard, Normal, and Emergency Change processes.
- Configure approval policies and risk-based change automation.
- Establish traceability across requirements, development, testing, deployment, and change activities.
- Implement deployment governance and compliance controls.
- Reduce manual intervention through intelligent automation.
- Support end-to-end release orchestration and deployment visibility.
Technical Leadership
- Lead technical design discussions and architecture reviews.
- Provide guidance to developers on ServiceNow development best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Mentor and coach development teams.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, and Platform Owners.
- Review and validate technical solution designs and integration strategies.
- Support estimation, sprint planning, and technical roadmap discussions.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies.
ServiceNow Platform Development
- Develop and maintain: Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, ACLs, Flow Designer Flows, Integration Hub Actions, Scheduled Jobs, Notifications, Import Sets and Transform Maps, Scripted REST APIs
- Develop scalable and reusable platform components.
- Ensure optimal platform performance and maintainability.
- Follow ServiceNow development and security best practices.
Release and Deployment Management
- Support ServiceNow application lifecycle management.
- Manage Update Sets, Source Control, and Application Repository deployments.
- Define deployment and release standards.
- Support release planning and deployment activities across environments.
- Coordinate platform upgrades and assess integration impacts.
- Implement version control and deployment governance practices.
Governance, Security, and Compliance
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security standards.
- Implement secure coding and integration practices.
- Maintain role-based access controls and data security requirements.
- Participate in architecture, security, and governance reviews.
- Maintain technical documentation and solution artifacts.
- Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
- Promote platform standardization and reduction of technical debt.
Preferred Certifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM
- ServiceNow DevOps Micro-Certification
Experience
8+ Years of Overall IT Experience
- Minimum 8+ years of ServiceNow development experience
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in DevOps integration and automation initiatives
- Proven experience leading ServiceNow development and integration teams
