Job Description

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Network Effects Engineer to design, model, and secure complex communication and cyber-physical networks that underpin critical defense and aerospace missions. In APL's mission-driven, collaborative culture, you'll work with experts in IT and cybersecurity to analyze large-scale network interactions, develop simulations and tools, and architect resilient, secure networked systems. Responsibilities

  • Model, analyze, and engineer large-scale communication and cyber-physical networks for defense and aerospace missions.
  • Design secure, resilient network architectures to support advanced sensing, C2, and autonomous systems.
  • Develop simulations and analytical tools to study network effects, performance, and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in IT and cybersecurity to transition research into deployed capabilities.
  • Conduct experiments, analyze data, and publish or brief findings to sponsors and technical stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging network, cyber, and space technologies and apply them to mission challenges.
