Technical Writer – Salesforce / Digital Banking
Location: McLean, VA — Onsite
Contract: 6–12 months with possible extension
Employment: W2 Contract
Interview: Face-to-face
Pay: $40–$42/hour W2

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support a large-scale Salesforce digital banking transformation. The role will work closely with Salesforce architects, developers, business analysts, product owners, integration teams, QA, and business stakeholders to create and maintain clear technical and functional documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain technical, functional, and system documentation for Salesforce applications.
• Document Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and related solutions.
• Document digital-banking processes including customer/member onboarding, account servicing, loan/application processes, self-service, case management, digital portals, and employee workflows.
• Document Salesforce configuration including objects, relationships, flows, validation rules, permission sets, profiles, sharing/security, Lightning components, and integrations.
• Work with development and integration teams to document REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft integrations, data mappings, authentication, error handling, and integration flows.
• Create API documentation, interface specifications, architecture diagrams, and data-flow diagrams.
• Create and maintain technical design documents, functional design documents, SOPs, runbooks, user guides, release notes, knowledge articles, troubleshooting guides, and process flows.
• Convert architecture meetings and technical discussions into clear, structured documentation.
• Review documentation with architects and subject-matter experts for technical accuracy.
• Maintain documentation using Confluence, Jira, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and related tools.
• Support Agile teams with requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical decisions.
• Maintain documentation through Salesforce releases and platform changes.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical-writing experience.
• 3+ years documenting enterprise applications.
• Strong Salesforce technical-documentation experience.
• Understanding of Salesforce architecture and terminology.
• Experience documenting APIs and system integrations.
• Strong experience working with Agile/Scrum teams.
• Ability to work directly with developers, architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders and independently produce documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

• Salesforce Financial Services Cloud.
• Salesforce Service Cloud and Experience Cloud/LWR.
• MuleSoft / Anypoint Platform.
• REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, OAuth, and API specifications.
• Banking, financial-services, or credit-union environments.
• Data Cloud / Data 360 and Agentforce / Einstein.
• Confluence, Jira, SharePoint, Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io, Swagger/OpenAPI, Git, or Markdown.
• Experience creating architecture and data-flow diagrams.
• Experience working in regulated environments.

Candidates must be able to work onsite in McLean, VA and attend a face-to-face interview if selected.
