About the project

Our client is a multi-plant manufacturer with a problem a lot of manufacturers will recognize. Production, inventory, quality and financial data live in the ERP, the MES, plant systems and a lot of spreadsheets. Leadership can't get one trusted view of how the plants are performing, and reporting takes too long to build and too much effort to reconcile.

They're bringing in an experienced Power BI and Fabric consultant to fix the foundation and deliver reporting that plant managers and executives actually use.

What you'll do

• Work with operations, finance and plant leadership to define KPIs such as OEE, throughput, scrap and defect rates, inventory turns and on-time delivery
• Pull data from ERP (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Dynamics or similar), MES and plant sources into a clean, governed model
• Design and build in Microsoft Fabric: OneLake, lakehouse and warehouse, medallion architecture, Data Factory pipelines, Dataflow Gen2
• Build semantic models, DAX measures and executive and plant-level dashboards in Power BI
• Replace manual Excel reporting and legacy SSRS or Tableau reports
• Set up workspace governance, row-level security by plant or region, and deployment pipelines
• Train business users so the reports get adopted after go-live

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of hands-on Power BI development in enterprise environments
• Strong DAX, Power Query and data modeling
• Hands-on Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory or Synapse experience
• Experience with manufacturing, supply chain or operations data strongly preferred
• Experience sourcing data from SAP, Oracle or another major ERP
• Comfortable in front of plant managers and executives
• PL-300 or DP-600 certification is a plus
