Job Description

An established, enterprise-scale organisation is expanding its PMO capability and is looking for an experienced Operations PMO Programme Manager to help shape and deliver complex, outcome-focused change.

This is a high-profile role working with senior stakeholders to design, mobilise and run programmes that bring together multiple projects, workstreams and teams.

The Role

You'll take ownership of end-to-end programme delivery, turning strategy into actionable, well-governed programmes and ensuring day-to-day progress through strong leadership, governance and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Shaping and mobilising outcome-focused programmes from disparate initiatives
  2. Full life cycle programme management (risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, reporting)
  3. Defining and operating effective programme governance aligned to portfolio standards
  4. Coordinating underlying projects and workstreams to ensure coherence and momentum
  5. Acting as the voice of the business into the programme
  6. Managing senior stakeholders, sponsors and governance forums
  7. Enabling sponsors to focus on direction-setting while you drive delivery
  8. Working closely with architecture, IT, risk and supplier teams
  9. Supporting and growing programme capability, including onboarding additional resources

What We're Looking For

  1. Proven experience leading large-scale or complex programmes
  2. Strong PMO/programme governance background within a professional services or enterprise environment
  3. Excellent senior stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  4. Solid experience across Waterfall and Agile delivery approaches
  5. Expert programme planning skills (dependencies, capacity, sequencing)
  6. Pragmatic, detail-oriented, but always focused on outcomes
  7. Proactive, confident self-starter who gets things done
