Technical Data Product Owner

Our client is seeking an experienced Sr. Technical Data Product Owner to join their Global Data Engineering and Business Intelligence team.

This role is focused on data migration and integration, requirements gathering, data validation, and stakeholder engagement. You will serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into clear data requirements and helping ensure data solutions are delivered accurately and on time.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of data, Business Intelligence, SQL, ETL processes, and data integration, combined with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.

This is not a hands-on development or solution design role. Instead, you will use your technical data knowledge to understand requirements, document data flows and mappings, work with engineering teams, and validate that solutions meet business expectations.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support data migration and integration initiatives
• Gather, define, and document business and data requirements from stakeholders
• Translate business needs into clear requirements for technical and engineering teams
• Create and maintain source-to-target mappings and document data flows
• Use SQL to analyze data, validate outputs, and identify discrepancies
• Support the development of data products built through ETL processes
• Work with data platforms and technologies such as Snowflake and Databricks
• Partner closely with business stakeholders to clarify requirements, address challenges, and maintain alignment
• Verify and validate solutions to ensure they meet documented business requirements
• Support business-user handoff, training, and adoption as needed
• Monitor timelines, priorities, quality, and delivery expectations
• Proactively identify and resolve requirements or data-related issues
• Work independently across multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies and project management tools

What You'll Bring

• 5–7+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Product Ownership, Data/BI, or a related discipline
• Strong experience working with data migration and/or data integration projects
• Proficiency with SQL and the ability to query and analyze data independently
• Strong understanding of ETL processes, data flows, data structures, and data warehousing concepts
• Experience with source-to-target mapping and data integration
• Experience working with Business Intelligence tools, such as Power BI
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and/or Databricks
• Proven experience gathering and documenting business requirements
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to effectively translate between business stakeholders and technical teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly organized with strong documentation and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred
