About the Role
DAHL Consulting is seeking a Senior SAP TM Functional Consultant to support a confidential client — a global leader in food, agriculture, and supply chain solutions with extensive international logistics and transportation operations. This is a high-impact consulting engagement supporting a large-scale SAP S/4HANA 2025 upgrade, with a specialized focus on Transportation Management (TM). The ideal candidate will serve as the primary functional resource driving the TCA system upgrade, ensuring business continuity across daily shipping and logistics operations throughout the transition.
Job Description
As the Senior SAP TM Functional Consultant, you will play a critical role in assessing, validating, and safeguarding logistics business processes during a major system upgrade. You will work cross-functionally with Application Development, Business Process Management & Analysis (BPMA), TCA, integration, testing, and Change Management teams to ensure a seamless transition with zero disruption to critical shipping operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the functional impacts of the SAP S/4HANA 2025 upgrade on Transportation Management (TM) processes using SAP Release Notes, Simplification Items, and related documentation.
  • Validate end-to-end business process integrity and support a smooth migration through hands-on testing, integration, and functional configuration (no coding required).
  • Identify and resolve system defects through structured root cause analysis and continuous testing cycles.
  • Collaborate closely with Application Development, BPMA, TCA, integration, and testing teams to implement upgrade-related changes and coordinate with Change Management on all impacts.
  • Maintain critical logistics operations by ensuring efficient freight planning, carrier selection, and safe shipment processes remain uninterrupted.
  • Support system retrofits, deployment projects, and dual maintenance during both steady-state and upgrade periods as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with SAP TM (Transportation Management) and S/4HANA upgrades, ideally within international, mid- to large-scale environments.
  • Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA (2025, Private Cloud, or On-Premise), SAP TM (embedded or decentralized), SAP EWM, and MM/SD modules.
  • Experience with integration protocols such as SAP EDI, IDocs, ESR, and CIF, along with tools like SAP Solution Manager, Readiness Check, and Focused Build.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and interpret SAP simplification notes, design and execute impact assessments, and manage master data and configuration (non-programming).
  • Experience coordinating dual maintenance and environment management during system upgrades.
  • Proven track record leading integration test scenarios, user acceptance testing (UAT), and end-to-end defect management using strong analytical and root-cause troubleshooting skills.
  • Practical experience mapping Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes to TM modules.
  • Solid understanding of freight planning, charge management, tendering, and settlement processes.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, with experience acting as a liaison between technical integration, business process management, and change management teams.
  • Execution-driven, detail-oriented, and analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and validate systems independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP Certified Application Associate – Transportation Management in S/4HANA or equivalent certification.
  • Experience training end users and supporting operational continuity during large-scale system transitions.
