Job Description

Service Engineer Multi-Skilled M62 Corridor £40,000 – £45,000 + Overtime (OTE £50k–£55k) Package Includes: 25 days holiday + bank holidays<br />Company vehicle (fully expensed for work use)<br />Matched pension scheme (4%)<br />Extensive training provided (including international training at European HQs)<br />Regular overtime opportunities (£10k typical)<br />Average working week 50–55 hours<br />The Company Our client is a leading distributor of premium European food processing machinery across the UK.

The Role – Field Service Engineer As a Field Service Engineer, you will be a key technical expert supporting customers nationwide. You will be responsible for:

Installation, service, repair, and commissioning of a wide range of food processing machinery<br />Electrical fault finding, including interpreting and working from electrical drawings<br />Diagnosing and repairing faults on PLCs, HMIs, and 3-phase (up to 415V) systems<br />Running and terminating Ethernet cables and network connections<br />Mechanical work on bearings, shafts, pulleys, chains, conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics<br />Completing preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime for customers<br />Working away from home up to 4 nights per week, covering sites across the UK<br />Visiting a variety of customer environments including fisheries, poultry farms, and meat processing plants<br />This is a hands-on, varied role that requires a self-sufficient, customer-focused engineer who enjoys problem solving and working with complex machinery.

Qualifications &amp; Experience The ideal candidate will have:

Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering<br />HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (preferred)<br />Solid experience within FMCG, ideally in food or packaging machinery environments<br />Knowledge of PLC systems (basic fault finding and I/O diagnostics)<br />Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, motors, drives)<br />Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and stay away during the week<br />Why Apply?
