Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) to lead the establishment and ongoing management of a new Procurement Organization for our client. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for a seasoned procurement executive with deep expertise in IT procurement and enterprise procurement operations.
During this period, they will work closely with our implementation team as the Procurement-to-Pay (P2P) process is designed and deployed. Following the successful implementation, the CPO will assume responsibility for leading and operating the client's Procurement Organization as they transition to a direct employee of the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and operational management of the client's Procurement Organization.
- Partner with the implementation team during the design and deployment of the Procurement-to-Pay (P2P) process.
- Establish procurement governance, policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Build and lead a high-performing procurement team.
- Develop strategic sourcing initiatives that optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance.
- Oversee both direct and indirect procurement activities across the organization.
- Drive vendor management, contract negotiations, supplier relationships, and procurement compliance.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align procurement strategy with business objectives.
- Support organizational change management and adoption of new procurement processes and systems.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive executive-level procurement leadership experience, preferably as a Chief Procurement Officer, VP of Procurement, or similar role.
- Deep expertise in IT procurement with a well-rounded background managing both direct and indirect purchasing.
- Experience building, transforming, or leading enterprise procurement organizations.
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, supplier management, and procurement governance.
- Experience working within enterprise ERP procurement systems; familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle 8) procurement and requisition processing is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead organizational transformation and implement procurement best practices.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.

Engagement Details
- One-year contract to hire.
- During the contract period, the consultant will establish and help operationalize the procurement function before transitioning to lead the organization for the client as a direct employee.
- There is no predetermined conversion salary; compensation will be negotiated directly with the client at the time of conversion.
