Quick Overview
Job Description
Senior Full Stack Developer
Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to serve as a pod lead on a next-generation insurance platform. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with end-to-end ownership — working directly with business stakeholders, designing the solution, building it, testing it, and supporting it in production. There is no separate QA team; automated test coverage is owned by the pod. AI-assisted development is central to how this team works daily. Remote (US-based) with occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Own delivery end-to-end for a pod, from stakeholder requirements through design, build, test, and production support
- Design event-driven architecture, defining the events the pod produces and consumes
- Build across the full stack in TypeScript/Node.js and React, deploying microservices to AWS container infrastructure
- Use AI-assisted development tooling as part of the standard daily workflow
- Build and maintain the pod''s automated test suite, integrated into the CI pipeline
- Embed performance, resilience, scalability, and Zero Trust security into the build rather than bolting them on
Qualifications
- Expert-level TypeScript and Node.js with production microservices experience on cloud-native container infrastructure
- Strong React on the front end
- Demonstrated experience designing event-driven systems, not solely working within them
- Fluency with AI-assisted development tooling as a daily engineering habit
- Proficiency across both document and relational databases
- Strong testing discipline across unit, integration, E2E, and performance
- Ability to communicate directly with business stakeholders and drive work independently
- Bachelor''s or master''s in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
Preferred
- Insurance or fintech domain experience
- Exposure to HIPAA, SOC2, or PCI-DSS in a shipping product
- High-growth or startup environment experience
