Job Description

DV Cleared Security Architect

700- 800 per day Outside IR35 Long-Term Contract Hampshire (Full-Time Onsite)

We are looking for an experienced DV Cleared Security Architect to join a highly classified defence programme, delivering security architecture across complex secure infrastructure, networks and mission-critical platforms.

This is an opportunity to work on a long-term programme at the heart of UK national security, helping to design, assure and accredit secure environments that support critical operational capabilities.



The Role

As the Security Architect, you will be responsible for defining and assuring security architectures across highly secure IT and network environments. Working alongside infrastructure, network and systems engineering teams, you will ensure solutions are secure by design and compliant with MOD and NCSC security standards.

You'll play a key role in security assurance, risk management and accreditation activities throughout the project lifecycle.



Responsibilities

  • Design and develop security architectures for secure infrastructure and network environments.
  • Produce high and low-level security architecture documentation.
  • Conduct threat modelling, security risk assessments and vulnerability analysis.
  • Define security controls aligned to Secure by Design principles.
  • Support security assurance, accreditation and governance activities.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, network and engineering teams to embed security throughout delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with MOD, NCSC and industry security standards.
  • Provide technical guidance on secure infrastructure, identity, cryptography and boundary protection technologies.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Security Architect within Defence, MOD, National Security or other highly secure environments.
  • Strong understanding of secure infrastructure, network and platform security architectures.
  • Experience designing and securing enterprise network environments.
  • Expertise in:
    • Network segmentation and security zoning
    • Firewalls, IDS/IPS and boundary protection
    • PKI, cryptography and key management
    • Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM)
    • Secure by Design principles
    • Threat modelling and security risk assessment
  • Experience producing security architecture artefacts and supporting security accreditation activities.
  • Good knowledge of:
    • NCSC guidance
    • JSP 440
    • MOD security policies
    • Defence assurance frameworks


Desirable

  • CISSP
  • SABSA
  • TOGAF
  • CCP/Security Architecture certifications
  • Experience working on classified defence or secure government programmes.


Security Clearance

  • Current UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is essential.
  • Due to the nature of the programme, only candidates holding active DV clearance can be considered.


Contract Details

  • 700- 800 per day
  • Outside IR35
  • Long-term contract
  • Full-time onsite in Hampshire
