Job Description

Aquent is partnering with a global leader in entertainment, a company dedicated to delivering exceptional content and continually enhancing the services and experiences for filmmakers worldwide. This is a 12-month contract, offering up to £352 per day – 40 hrs/week (PAYE). The selected candidate will be expected to work nights, weekends, and other off-hours as needed to support productions across time zones and around the clock. About the Role

Are you a highly skilled and experienced Media Engineer passionate about pushing the boundaries of live production? We are seeking an individual to join our Live Production Editorial Support team, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of dynamic live editorial workflows. This position is at the forefront of innovation, demanding a deep understanding of remote production environments, live streaming, and intricate editorial processes. You will be instrumental in maintaining high-quality standards and providing best-in-class support, directly contributing to the creative vision and success of groundbreaking content. What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the operational front line, providing empathetic, high-trust support to quickly unblock productions and protect their creative time, employing a holistic troubleshooting approach.
  • Actively monitor automated file transfers and system health, proactively identifying and remediating potential issues before they impact productions.
  • Provide deep subject-matter expertise for core post-production tools, including those related to media ingestion, asset management, conform processes, and visual effects pulls, as well as emerging tools for content processing.
  • Systematically collect critical signals and feedback from productions and daily interactions to inform continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to identify and prioritise bug fixes and develop essential troubleshooting tools.
  • Collaborate with production technology teams, leveraging your insights to provide valuable context, cultural understanding, and workflow feedback directly into product development.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in post-production support, process management at a vendor, or studio/network support.
  • Deep knowledge of content creation processes, on-set production, and post-production services.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard production and post-production software and workflows (e.g., dailies, visual effects pulls, conform processes, review and approval), particularly their color science aspects.
  • Command-line proficiency and a basic understanding of APIs and how to interact with them.
  • Understanding of JSON, XML, CSV, and other commonly used data formats, as well as industry standards like ALE, EDL, MHL/ASC-MHL, and FDL.
  • Familiarity with different storage infrastructures (local drives, SANs, cloud storage).
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and other off-hours as needed to support productions across time zones and around the clock.
  • Strong background in media engineering, with a focus on remote editorial production environments.
  • Deep understanding of remote PCoIP technologies, live streaming, and editorial workflows.
  • Exceptional client service skills, quick learning ability, and adaptability to changing needs.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
