Behavioral Scientist

Role Overview

• Apply behavioral science principles to enhance how holistic advice and guidance are delivered to Edward Jones clients.
• Guide senior leaders in setting the strategic direction and vision for key areas.
• Consult with business areas to develop effective solutions using behavioral insights to influence decision-making and improve behaviors across the firm.
• Collaborate across the Experience Center of Expertise, Enterprise Design, and other shared services teams.

• Design and consult on research methodologies to address firm-wide business issues using both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
• Lead and advocate for experimentation as a key business process.
• Provide guidance on designing experimental interventions to support data-based decision-making.
• Partner with external vendors and academic institutions to execute research projects.
• Apply the latest advancements in behavioral science to firm strategies.

• Support the creation and execution of Enterprise Design strategy.
• Provide thought leadership to better serve clients and align with business objectives.
• Integrate with, and when appropriate lead, cross-disciplinary design teams addressing complex business questions.
• Incorporate behavioral science principles into design initiatives.
• Utilize expertise in digital product design and knowledge of common UX practices and ways of working.
• Apply behavioral insights to optimize key user behaviors.

• Communicate complex data and behavioral science concepts clearly and effectively to various audiences, including senior leadership and associates.
• Build awareness and understanding of behavioral science principles across different groups within the firm.
• Influence stakeholders and support the integration of behavioral insights into key business initiatives.

• Master''s degree in a relevant social science field such as:
• Psychology
• Organizational Behavior
• Behavioral Finance
• Economics
• Equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Doctorate preferred.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of behavioral science, psychology, behavioral economics, or related fields.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to address broad and complex business challenges.
• Ability to independently make decisions regarding:
• Research methodologies
• Project prioritization
• Strategic direction
• Strong research design and methodology expertise.
• Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research approaches.
• Experience with experimentation and experimental intervention design.
• Demonstrated consultative and entrepreneurial approach to projects.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and lead large-scale initiatives.
• Ability to influence and work effectively with senior stakeholders and leaders.
• Experience guiding senior leaders in integrating behavioral insights into business initiatives.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of digital product design and common UX practices.
• Ability to apply behavioral insights to improve key user behaviors.
