GitHub & Azure DevOps Migration Architect
Location: Remote (EST preferred)
Duration: 10-12+ Week Contract

We're looking for an experienced GitHub & Azure DevOps Migration Architect to support a large enterprise application separation initiative. This consultant will be responsible for designing new GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps environments while leading the migration of repositories, pipelines, permissions, and related DevOps assets from legacy environments into newly established platforms.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build new GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps environments
• Assess existing repositories, permissions, branching strategies, pipelines, and integrations
• Design target-state repository structures, security models, branching strategies, and DevOps architecture
• Lead migration of source code, repositories, pipelines, configurations, and associated DevOps assets
• Develop migration runbooks, implementation plans, validation procedures, and cutover documentation
• Coordinate with application teams, infrastructure, DevOps engineers, and migration leadership
• Support migration testing, validation, and production readiness activities
• Identify migration risks, dependencies, and remediation plans

Required Experience

• Extensive hands-on GitHub Enterprise experience
• Strong Azure DevOps administration and migration experience
• Enterprise repository migration experience
• CI/CD pipeline migration (GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps Pipelines)
• Experience with enterprise application migrations, divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, or carve-outs
• Experience designing repository governance, permissions, branching strategies, and source control standards
• Strong documentation skills including migration runbooks and implementation plans
• Excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders
