Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Compliance professional to support financial transactions, reconciliations, compliance reviews, and financial documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, hands-on experience with FLAIR or FLPALM, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and vouch deposits and disbursements associated with financial aid and loan programs.
- Perform weekly and monthly fund reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Prepare, update, and maintain procedures, process documentation, and training manuals.
- Conduct compliance reviews of educational and post-secondary institutions.
- Review financial records and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
- Identify discrepancies, document findings, and support corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate accounting, reconciliation, and compliance records.
- Prepare financial reports and documentation using Microsoft Office applications.
- Perform additional accounting, reconciliation, and compliance-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- MUST have a Bachelor of Science in Accounting OR a Community College Accounting Certificate.
- OR 3+ years of professional accounting/financial experience.
- MUST HAVE hands-on experience working with FLAIR or FLPALM.
- Professional business experience with exposure to accounting, financial operations, or compliance.
- Basic accounting knowledge, including reconciliations, financial transactions, and recordkeeping.
- Experience reviewing financial records and supporting documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; Access experience is a plus.
