Quick overview
Job description
WHO WE ARE
In 2012, Mizzen+Main set out to end the trade-off between looking sharp and feeling comfortable, and in doing so helped create the performance menswear category. We re-engineer classics with better materials and considered construction, built to keep pace with the life our customer leads.
We are now entering our next chapter: evolving from a performance shirt company into a premium menswear brand. Our customer is an established, accomplished professional. He values substance over show, is loyal to the few brands that earn it, and expects his clothes to meet his standards. We are building a brand worthy of him.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Mizzen+Main is seeking an experienced, driven, and fashion-forward Store Manager to lead our retail team. As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional customer experience, developing a high-performing sales team, and ensuring smooth, efficient day-to-day operations of the store. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate retail leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to growing the Mizzen+Main brand at the local level.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Represent Mizzen+Main with professionalism, product expertise, and personal presentation.
- Deliver and model best-in-class, personalized customer service to drive sales and build lasting customer relationships.
- Maintain a welcoming, organized, and brand-aligned store environment.
- Cultivate a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture.
- Recruit, onboard, and train sales associates and keyholders to perform at a high level.
- Provide regular coaching, feedback, and team alignment through meetings and development sessions.
- Oversee daily store operations, including inventory control, merchandising, and adherence to procedures.
- Execute floor sets and visual displays that meet brand standards.
- Maintain a clean, efficient stockroom for seamless product flow and replenishment.
- Build weekly schedules based on traffic trends and business needs to ensure optimal floor coverage.
- Review and submit accurate time sheets and payroll in compliance with company policies.
- Set and manage sales goals through coaching and strategic planning.
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics to the District Manager.
- Manage expenses, operational costs, and inventory levels to meet financial targets.
- Plan and execute engaging in-store events in partnership with the corporate marketing team.
- Ensure team awareness and accurate communication of all promotions and offers.
- Act as the lead escalation point for customer concerns, ensuring timely, respectful resolutions.
- Build strong customer relationships to drive loyalty and repeat business.
- Ensure all team members uphold Mizzen+Main’s operational policies and service expectations.
- Promote company values in every customer and team interaction.
While this job posting emphasizes the key responsibilities and requirements, there may be additional duties, responsibilities and qualifications for this job.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Previous retail management experience required (minimum 2+ years preferred).
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in using POS systems, tablets, and retail management software.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
- Available to work 5 days per week, including at least one weekend day.
- Must be able to respond to store emergencies or fill in for absent team members when needed, even if outside of scheduled shifts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry, and move at least 40 lbs.
- Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around regularly, and standing for extended periods of time.
Why Work for Mizzen+Main?
At Mizzen+Main, we believe in combining performance fabrics with modern style — and our people are just as dynamic. Join a company where innovation, quality, and exceptional customer experiences are at the heart of everything we do. Do what you love and love what you do. Why wait? Today's a Good Day For It.
