About the Role

If you're an Engineering Manager who wants to lead project execution on the owner's side of the table across decarbonisation, hydrogen and renewables, this role offers real scope and autonomy.

You will be part of an international energy business where the UK engineering team delivers projects and technical support across a global portfolio. The team sits at the centre of the shift from traditional energy into decarbonised and innovative technologies, and you will take full ownership of engineering execution across the project lifecycle.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Permanent owner-side role at the heart of the energy transition
  • Genuine hybrid working with strong remote flexibility
  • Full ownership of engineering execution from feasibility through early design to execution
  • International projects and multicultural teams across multiple locations
  • A portfolio spanning decarbonisation and renewables

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the engineering execution plan and drive it through every project phase
  • Lead the engineering project team, including roles, staffing and workload
  • Oversee engineering execution to maximise value for the business
  • Coordinate design and HSEQ reviews
  • Define and monitor project schedules and cost budgets
  • Manage engineering risks, including identification, assessment, response and stakeholder communication
  • Manage project changes, interfaces and their impact on execution
  • Manage multidisciplinary outsourced engineering services
  • Consolidate cost estimates and monthly workload forecasts for management
  • Act as the main engineering interface with stakeholders on progress, risks and decisions

Requirements

  • Proven capability managing engineering execution, including planning, scheduling, progress and cost control
  • Strong grounding in risk management, change management and project management processes
  • Familiarity with all project phases, from feasibility and early design through to execution
  • Understanding of the owner-engineering role in an international energy organisation
  • Experience working with multicultural teams across different locations
  • Confidence leading autonomously, including decision making, setting priorities and problem solving
  • BEng in Engineering minimum, with Chartered status desirable
