Job Description

Commissioning Engineer Water

Location: United Utilities Region (North West)

Our client, a leading Tier 1 contractor within the UK water industry, is looking to recruit an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join their growing delivery team across the United Utilities framework.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects, supporting the successful commissioning of electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems from installation through to final handover.

The Role

As a Commissioning Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring new and upgraded assets are commissioned safely, efficiently and in line with project specifications.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering commissioning activities across water and wastewater projects.
  • Commissioning MEICA and EICA systems.
  • Carrying out loop checks, functional testing and fault finding.
  • Testing PLC, SCADA and telemetry systems.
  • Commissioning pumps, motors, MCCs, control panels and process equipment.
  • Working with flow, pressure, level and analytical instrumentation.
  • Producing commissioning plans, test documentation and handover records.
  • Working closely with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors and client representatives.
  • Supporting safe delivery in line with company and industry standards.
About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have previous commissioning experience within the UK water sector together with a strong understanding of electrical and control systems.

You'll ideally have experience of:

  • Clean Water or Wastewater Treatment projects.
  • MEICA or EICA commissioning.
  • PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Telemetry and industrial communication networks.
  • Level, pressure and flow instrumentation.
  • Electrical testing, commissioning and fault diagnosis.
Qualifications
  • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Relevant health & safety qualifications such as ECS/CSCS or SMSTS are advantageous.
