Job Description

Assistant Project Manager Location:

Oxfordshire Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 p/annum + Package (dependent on experience) The Opportunity We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Assistant Project Manager to join a growing team delivering high-quality laboratory, pharmaceutical, life sciences and technical refurbishment projects across Oxfordshire and the wider region.

This role is ideally suited to someone who has gained experience working for a leading fit-out contractor and is looking to progress their career within a specialist and fast-growing sector. Experience supporting the delivery of laboratory, pharmaceutical, cleanroom or highly serviced fit-out projects would be highly advantageous.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior project management teams, supporting the successful planning and delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion.

Key Responsibilities Support Project Managers in the delivery of laboratory, pharmaceutical and technical fit-out/refurbishment projects.<br />Assist with project planning, programming and coordination activities.<br />Help manage subcontractors, suppliers and specialist trades on site.<br />Monitor project progress against programme, budget and quality objectives.<br />Attend client, design team and subcontractor meetings, producing meeting minutes and action trackers.<br />Assist with procurement activities and subcontractor package management.<br />Support health and safety compliance across projects.<br />Coordinate project documentation, reporting and change management processes.<br />Assist with commissioning, snagging and project handover activities.<br />Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.<br />About You Previous experience in an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator or Site Management role within the construction sector.<br />Experience working for a fit-out contractor, interiors contractor or specialist construction business.<br />Strong organisational and communication skills.<br />Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.<br />Good understanding of construction processes and project delivery.<br />Proficient in Microsoft Office and project reporting tools.<br />Eager to develop a long-term career within project management.<br />Desirable Experience Exposure to laboratory, pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, cleanroom or technical fit-out projects.<br />Experience supporting refurbishment and CAT A/CAT B fit-out projects.<br />Knowledge of estimating, tendering, cost planning or pre-construction activities.<br />Experience working within live operational environments.<br />Relevant construction qualifications such as HNC, HND, Degree, SMSTS, CSCS or equivalent.<br />What's on Offer Salary of £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.<br />Competitive benefits package.<br />Opportunity to work on prestigious laboratory, pharmaceutical and life sciences projects.<br />Ongoing training and mentorship from experienced project professionals.<br />Clear career progression to Project Manager and beyond.<br />Collaborative, supportive and technically focused working environment.<br />If you have experience working within the fit-out sector and are looking to develop your career delivering complex laboratory and pharmaceutical projects, we'd be delighted to hear from you
