Critical Competencies

  • A critical competency for this role is the ability to leverage agentic AI development tools (such as Claude Code, Antigravity, Kiro, or similar platforms) to accelerate coding workflows, debug complex issues, and streamline the software development lifecycle.
  • Candidates must possess foundational AI knowledge and practical experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into applications.
  • Experience with AWS services is required to effectively connect intelligent backend models with user-friendly frontend experiences that enhance operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, highly responsive user interfaces using ReactJS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Implement modern, accessible, and maintainable UI components and styling using Tailwind CSS, shadcn, Radix UI, or similar component libraries.
  • Utilize Vite for frontend tooling, application builds, and optimized bundling.
  • Collaborate with backend developers to integrate Python-based RESTful APIs and machine learning models into frontend applications.
  • Leverage agentic AI development tools to improve development velocity, code quality, testing, debugging, and deployment processes.
  • Deploy and manage frontend applications using AWS services including S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, and related technologies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities, including chatbots, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) interfaces, intelligent search, and conversational experiences.
  • Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions to ensure applications are scalable, secure, reliable, and performant.
  • Rapidly prototype UI/UX concepts and iterate on solutions supporting mission-critical challenges such as data triage, operational decision-making, and automated discovery.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on software engineering experience with a focus on frontend development. A Master's degree or applicable industry certification may substitute for up to two years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing Section 508-compliant and accessible user interfaces, including strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines and ARIA standards.
  • Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with significant experience building complex ReactJS applications.
  • Hands-on experience with modern frontend technologies including Vite, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/Radix UI, or comparable component libraries.
  • Working knowledge of Python for interfacing with backend APIs, machine learning models, and systems integrations.
  • Experience leveraging agentic AI development tools such as Claude Code, Antigravity, Kiro, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies within the software development lifecycle.
  • Foundational knowledge of Artificial Intelligence concepts and hands-on experience integrating AI/ML APIs, Large Language Models (LLMs), conversational agents, or RAG-based solutions into web applications.
  • Proven experience deploying and managing frontend web applications using AWS services such as S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, and related technologies.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, application state management, and modern UI/UX best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex mission requirements into intuitive software solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal or mission-focused environments.
  • Experience building applications that support operational decision-making, data analysis, intelligence workflows, or automated discovery capabilities.
  • Experience working with modern AI orchestration frameworks, prompt engineering methodologies, or AI-powered user experiences.
