Junior Data Engineer - Google Cloud / Enterprise Data Warehouse

Position Summary

Seeking a junior-level Data Engineer to build, enhance, and maintain an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) supporting reporting, analytics, and AI-driven use cases. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), BigQuery, Python, SQL, and cloud-based data pipelines.

Must-Haves

• 3+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience


• Strong Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) experience


• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Storage (GCS) and BigQuery


• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines


• Experience with Airflow / Cloud Composer


• Experience with Cloud Data Fusion


• Experience with Google Cloud Functions


• Experience with BigQuery Data Transfer Service


• Strong hands-on Python and SQL


• Experience with GitHub / version control


• Experience building or supporting an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)


• Experience working within an Agile/Scrum development team


• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and data pipeline support skills

Key Responsibilities

• Build, modify, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines and Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions.


• Develop scalable data solutions using GCS, BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Cloud Data Fusion, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery Data Transfer Service.


• Write and optimize Python and SQL for data processing, transformation, and integration.


• Collaborate with data engineering, integration, production support, and business teams to develop new functionality.


• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline, integration, and EDW production issues.


• Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Use Google Gemini or Claude to assist with creating detailed technical and system documentation for data pipelines.


• Manage competing priorities while ensuring high-impact deliverables are completed on schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.


• Google Cloud Platform certifications.


• Experience supporting data platforms used for reporting, analytics, Agentic AI, or Generative AI use cases.


• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
