Festival City Ambassador
Location: Edinburgh City Centre Rate of Pay: £14.51 per hour Hours of Work: Full-time, including evenings and weekends as required during the festival season Duration: 3 months Start Date: ASAP
The Festival City Ambassador will:
Patrol busy city centre locations, engaging with residents, businesses and visitors while reporting any issues through the appropriate channels. Welcome and assist performers, artists, festival-goers and visitors in a friendly, professional manner. Provide information on Edinburgh's festivals, attractions, venues, transport and public facilities. Assist with directions and general enquiries, delivering excellent customer service. Help create a positive, inclusive and welcoming atmosphere throughout the festival season. Represent the City's values of respect, flexibility and integrity at all times. Work closely with Police Scotland, Council teams and other key stakeholders to support a coordinated approach during the festivals. Respond professionally to enquiries, concerns and complaints from members of the public and local businesses. Record incidents, visitor feedback and interactions using the appropriate reporting systems. Support promotional and social media activities where required.The successful candidate will have:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A friendly, approachable and confident manner when engaging with the public. Good knowledge of Edinburgh and enthusiasm for the city's festivals, culture and attractions. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook and web-based applications. The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with complaints or challenging situations. A proactive, reliable and adaptable approach. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. An understanding of GDPR and handling confidential or sensitive information. Apply directly via this advert today
