Position: Quality Engineer – Playwright Automation
Location: Parsippany, NJ (Onsite / In-Person)

 

Job Overview

Client is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer – Playwright Automation to design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions for web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation, modern programming languages, CI/CD integration, and software quality assurance practices.

The Quality Engineer will collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and QA stakeholders to define test strategies, improve automation coverage, and ensure high-quality software delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright.
  • Build and enhance automation frameworks for web application testing.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Identify, document, track, and manage defects throughout the complete bug lifecycle.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.
  • Analyze automation results, generate test reports, and communicate quality metrics.
  • Improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and QA best practices.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  • Troubleshoot test failures and provide recommendations for quality improvements.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Playwright automation testing.
  • Strong programming experience with one or more of the following:
    • JavaScript
    • TypeScript
    • Python
  • Experience developing automated end-to-end test scripts.
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, processes, and best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as:
    • Jenkins
    • GitHub Actions
    • Azure DevOps
  • Experience with API testing tools such as:
    • Postman
    • REST Assured
  • Experience testing web applications and user interfaces.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or enhancing automation frameworks.
  • Experience with modern test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or WebdriverIO.
  • Experience with cloud-based CI/CD environments.
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale applications.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
