Lead Firewall Engineer | Springfield, VA, United States | On-site | $131,300.00 - $237,350.00 This employer is a leader in digital modernization, seeking a senior engineer to bolster network security for a critical government effort. The Role • Design, implement, and manage complex firewall solutions using Cisco ASA/Firepower, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto technologies. • Monitor firewall performance and security logs to identify and mitigate potential threats. • Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures, performing system audits for compliance. • Serve as a people leader, guiding personnel supporting firewall operations, projects, and assessments. • Provide written reports and oral briefings to leadership, and conduct performance assessments for team members. • Drive continual service improvement strategies to enhance operational processes and achieve strategic program goals. What You'll Need • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of directly relevant experience, or equivalent military/work experience. • Minimum of an active DoD Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI; TS/SCI is preferred. • DoD 8570 IAT II or higher certification required prior to start. • A Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto certification required prior to start. • Demonstrated advanced experience in managing configurations, evaluating rules, and researching new firewall technologies within a DoD environment. • Proven ability to lead a Firewall Team in an organization of significant scale.
